Typography Day is an esteemed event being hosted for the eighteenth time at Jain University Kochi, in collaboration with the IDC School of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. This year, it focuses on the theme 'Typographic Intersections: Analogue to Digital and Beyond'. The event is designed to cater to a diverse audience, including industry professionals, academics, research scholars, and a significant number of students, making it an inclusive platform for learning and sharing knowledge in the field of typography.The event spans three days and kicks off with a series of workshops centered around Typography and Calligraphy, which are aimed at equipping participants with hands-on skills and insights into these essential design elements. Following the workshops, an international conference will delve into the challenges faced by type designers, users, and educators. This conference will feature keynote presentations from renowned international grandmasters in typography, alongside academic presentations that have been chosen through a rigorous blind jury selection process. Participants can also look forward to an exhibition showcasing selected posters from an international competition, highlighting innovative typographic works from various countries. Additionally, there will be displays of typographic projects from students and faculty members of design institutes across India, including interactive and non-interactive installations. The event will culminate in an award ceremony, which will also feature the conferment of a Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating significant contributions to the field of typography.
